This is a simple straig. After applying some pressure you can pull the door knob towards you. If playback doesn t begin. If not rotate the faceplate until the underlying screws are accessible and use a phillips head screwdriver to remove them.

You would be surprised how a simple job like removing a door handle or doorknob can be a frustrating experience if your not prepared. Turn each screw holding the knob body. Many door knobs have trim plates that cover the screws so removing them can be a bit tricky if you ve never done it before. Push this latch in and pull the handle off the door.

Depending on the door handle design the faceplate may be able to slide completely off. Tug on the knob and it will slide right off. If any screws are exposed during this process remove them to release the lock and remove it from the door. Our quick video shows you how si.

Insert the tip of a screwdriver and pry off the trim piece. You should see a tiny slot or hole. The door handle will now slide off. With some pressure you can move the clip inside.

Once triggered the lever or lock trim can be removed from the door. Slide the cosmetic faceplate away from the door. There should be a small latch near the base of the knob or handle probably on the exterior side of the door. Locate the hole underneath the doorknob shaft.

Pull the rose cover off the knob body. Take your flat philips screwdriver and place it in the gap. Some styles of door knob will have another thin slot that requires a small screwdriver to free the cover from the door. Push the tip of a narrow screwdriver into the hole.

Next find a small slot on the edge of the trim piece. You don t need a carpenter to replace a door knob without visible screws on a d.
