I love the clear roof panels over my deck that replaced the fiberglass ones that were there but now there are muliple leaks where the panels overlap and also all along where the deck roof meets the house. Rain water does not shed onto the roof panels but instead goes under. The manufacturers of polycarbonate recommend silicone for sealing the overlap of the corrugation and for also putting a dollop over the heads of the screws although the special screws do have a built in washer. About 5 years ago i built a covered porch with half polycarbonate roof panels and half metal panels.
